What is Prehistan?

Prehistan is a term describing someone who’s identity is influenced by/affected by a past life or past lives.Past Lives?The belief in past lives is found in some religions and spiritualities, as well as personal spiritual beliefs not attached to other belief systems. Some are aware of their past lives or parts of them, and this may affect how they perceive their identity in their current life.For example, someone may be aware of or may believe that in a previous life they were a lesbian. This could affect their identity today as they may still feel connected to the lesbian label. Someone with this experience might identify as a pre-lesbian alongside their other labels, they may even currently identify as a lesbian due to this connection to the label.

Prehistan Glossary

Basic Umbrellaspre-orientations : orientations that someone is still connected to due to having been them in a past life
pre-genders : genders that someone is still connected to due to having been them in a past life
pre-species : species that someone is still connected to due to having been them in a past life - this overlaps with spiritual otherhearted and similar subterms, but pre-species can be used to specify past lives and not everyone with a pre-species may identify as alterhuman due to it
pre-ages : ages that someone is still connected to due to having been or having passed at that age in a past life - this can not be used to act as if you are currently that age, your current age is most important

FAQ and Misconceptions

"I don't believe in past lives, I shouldn't be forced to believe in other people's either"The least you can do is be quiet and let people believe what they do. It hurts nobody for them to have beliefs and live their lives accordingly"Won't people use this to enter spaces they aren't allowed in?"Prehistan identities should never be used for that, and if they are being used that way the user is using it incorrectly. Pre-ages, pre-orientations, pre-genders, and such that don't align with someone's current identity don't give anyone the right to enter those communities, talk on their topics/issues, or claim to be those things currently.
